Dry season
The dry season runs from November to April. This is when the least rain falls and temperatures are pleasant. If you are looking for sunny days and clear blue skies, this is the time to visit Cancun. This is also the time when Cancun's beaches are at their best.
In the dry season, the humidity is slightly lower than in the rainy season. But in general, most people find that the heat and humidity are manageable and only add to the tropical experience of a Cancun vacation.
Rainy season
From May through October, the rainy season runs. Despite its name, the wet season is actually a great time to visit Cancun. The rains usually come in the form of short afternoon showers followed by long periods of sunshine. Which means there is still plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful beaches and sunshine.
Temperatures in the wet season are a few degrees cooler than in the dry season, but still warm enough for sun-drenched vacations. In addition, hotel and resort prices tend to be lower during the rainy season.

Best time to visit Cancun for a sun vacation
If you're looking for warm weather and sun, the dry season (November-April) is the best time to visit Cancun. This is the perfect time of year to enjoy all that Cancun has to offer, from its white sandy beaches, turquoise Caribbean waters and vibrant nightlife. The winter months are the busiest, thanks in part to the Christmas and New Year's vacations.
Best time to visit Cancun for deals
However, if you're looking for deals on hotels and resorts, the rainy season (May-October) is the time to book your trip. That's because that's when it's low season in Mexico. Never fear, the rainstorms often only fall in the afternoon and are fierce but also so quickly over. After which you can enjoy the sun again.
It is important to note that hurricane season normally runs from June 1 to November 30 each year. However, the likelihood of hurricanes is greatest in September and October. Therefore, this period is not the best travel time for Cancun.
